It's the 2010 FL State Poker Championship Main Event, Day 1 B has started out pretty awesome as I noticed the first hand that Tom McEvoy was sitting across from me..

10 hands or so later I was moved to Michael Mizrachi’s table, where I got to play a few hands with “The Grinder”, unfortunately our time together was short-lived as he 4-bet shoved kings into aces pre-flop and busted by level 4.




A similar ‘cooler’ situation occurred for me approaching level 6 around the dinner break. ~20 big blinds with KK on the button, I open preflop for ~3x and the big blind calls. The flop is 9c 8s 2h, she immediately checks, I bet around half the pot and she calls, the turn is a 3c...she checks again and I swiftly shove my chips in the middle. She thinks about it for a while, calls my all-in and tables AA, river is another blank and there was the end of my main event … had a lot of fun playing with the pros tho, and fortunately I made some of my other tournament buy ins back by playing in the cash games during the series. I busted the FL state championship main event back to back years out of the money, which sucks, but please believe I will return to the Isle next year for my third shot at the title.
